Villar, Ejercito and Honasan completes the Magic 12

The Commission on Election (COMELEC) as the National Board of Canvassers (NBoC) proclaimed the final three senators as the final touch on this year's Magic 12 senatorial race.

Cynthia Villar, JV Ejercito and Gringo Honasan were proclaimed by Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. at the PICC, Pasay City, Saturday.

In the latest tally of 129 COCs canvass (39,898,992 votes), partial and unofficial count of COMELEC:
10.   Villar, Cynthia "Mrs. Hanepbuhay" (NP) -- 13,696, 120 votes
11.   Ejercito Estrada, Joseph Victo "JV" (UNA) -- 13,552,991 votes
12.   Honasan, Gregorio "Gringo" (UNA) -- 13,070,031 votes

To account, there are more than 52 million registered voters and 301 COCs.

Senator Nancy Binay and Koko Pimentel also joined the proclamation ceremony to formally award their certificate of proclamation. The two did not attend their scheduled proclamation to protest their opinion on the irregularity of canvassing and proclamation procedures of the COMELEC.

Pimentel said, "Premature 'yung proclamation yesterday (Friday). Kita mo one day wait lang in order na lahat  so sana ganun. Ganun naman ang panawagan ko sa kanila. At least ngayon pinakita sa akin medyo 100% na. Overseas votes na lang but if you sum it all up yung overseas votes even theoretically speaking it will no longer change the results."

Also present in the ceremony were Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III.
Ejercito arrived with his Manila Mayor-elect father Joseph "Erap" Estrada while Villar came with her husband former Senator Manny Villar and her children.

In accordance with Section 4 of the Constitution, the 12 senators will serve for six year term starting on June 30, 2013.

Brillantes announced that NBoC will resume canvassing for the partylist votes on Monday, May 20. It was earlier suspended in order to focus on the result of senatorial election.
