Labor Day Job Fair Nationwide

Manila -- With the theme of "Manggagawang Pilipino: Handa sa Hamon ng Makabagong Panahon", 2013 Labor Day celebrates today nationwide. A one day opportunity with more than 70 government job fairs, 43 of those were held at SM Supermalls,  for new graduates and jobseekers. The list of Metro Manila SM Malls which participated the said event were Bicutan, Fairview, Las Pinas, Mall of Asia, Manila, Marikina, Mega Mall, Muntinlupa, North EDSA, Novaliches, Pasig, San Lazaro, Sta. Mesa, South Mall, Sucat, and Valenzuela.

More than 400,000 job vacancies, local and overseas, are available in the job fairs nationwide including the 170,000 in Metro Manila alone. Around 725 local employers and 37 licensed overseas recruitment agencies participated and offered opportunities to jobseekers.

Job vacancies included in identified key employment generator (KEG) sectors are automotive, banking and finance, construction, cyber services, health and wellness, hotel and restaurant, tourism, and wholesale and retail trade. Occupations available in the wholesale and retail trade topped the number of vacancies.

It is advised to prepare the documents like resume or biodata, copy and original copy of diploma, copy and original transcript of records, clearances, employment certificates (if available), ID pictures, and government related documents like TIN, SSS, Pagibig and PhilHealth identification before attending the event.

Smart Communications, Inc. provided Smart Libreng Tawag for IDD Calls for families of OFWs at SM North EDSA and SM Manila job fairs and at Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) central offices.

Labor day job fair is an annual event facilitated by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
