Anime Alliance Philippines (AAP) has announced the date and venue for Hero TV's, number one Philippine anime cable channel, upcoming cosplay (costume play) event, the Hero Face Off 2013.
The Ultimate Cosplay Battle alongside with TOYCON 2013 is set to held on June 14, 15 and 16 at SM Megatrade Halls 1, 2 and 3 and Function Rooms A and B. The event is much-awaited by Philippine anime community of cosplayers and toy collectors. Philippine's famous cosplayers are expected to exhibit their crafts.
AAP also confirmed that this year's event will include the 12th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2013 and also anchor the World Cosplay Summit - Philippine Preliminaries Final Qualifier.
Last year's ultimate champion was given a chance to experience the Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention 2012 with an all-expense paid trip. This year's competition includes three category: Kid Squad (Individual, open to children 12 years old and below), League of Heroes (Group, open to cosplayers 13 to 40 years old) and Face Off: World Cosplay Summit Phillipine Preliminaries Final Qualifier.
Champion in the Face Off category will be awarded the grand title, P 20, 000 in cash and the opportunity to experience the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan. Japan is known to be the origin of anime. The winners of League of Heroes and Kid Squad will take home P 20, 000 and P15, 000 in cash respectively, with plaque and gift packages.
