Manila, Philippines - Tropical storm "Maring" has maintained its strength and remain almost stationary for the past hours. "Maring" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring moderate to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms over Luzon particularly in the Western section.
With this PAGASA announcement, local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon declare suspensions of classes for tomorrow, August 20, 2013 Tuesday.
Social media, particularly Twitter and Facebook, is now the second most accessible way to get information and alert regarding suspensions of classes. Almost all of the municipalities in Metro Manila has Facebook fan page and Twitter account that can be easily viewed.
Posts regarding suspension of classes ussually denotes with the hashtag, #walangpasok or #noclasses.
In the official Twitter account of Makati City Information Department, Mayor Jun Binay already declares no classes for tomorrow, August 20 in all public and private levels.
