Jonathan Yabut Hailed the First Filipino Winner in "The Apprentice Asia"

Jonathan Allen Yabut, senior manager of a pharmaceutical company in the Philippines, marked the history for winning the first "The Apprentice Asia". The winner was announced on the final episode of the reality game show aired on AXN, Wednesday night.



AirAsia Group Chief executive Tony Fernandes hired Yabut as his new apprentice over a young Singaporean Lawyer Andreah Loh with at least $100,000 annual salary for a one-year contract. Tony is also the host of the show.

"The Apprentice Asia" is a reality game show in which aspiring business minded people compete for the chance to work with Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes. The show is the adaptation of America's "The Apprentice". It was premiered on May 22, 2013 with 12 contestants across Asia and run 11 episodes. Different tasks were revealed in each episode for the twelve contestants grouped into two. Three from the loosing team will face the boardroom and one will lose his chance to work with Tony every end of episode.

The final task for Yabut and Loh was to organize a charity ball for AirAsia Foundation in which some of Malaysian VIP were present in the event. The two were given a chance to pick three among former contestants to help them with the given task.

Yabut to be strategically reasonable, he has chosen the half-Filipina beauty Celina Le Neindre, the "High Profile" know-all Nazril "Nash" Idrus, and the multi-talented Samuel "Sam" Rufus Nallaraj. With these three, Yabut managed to edge over Andreah in the charity ball giving him the winning task.

Other former contenders will be coming to Manila to celebrate with Yabut.
