"Man of Tai Chi" is an upcoming martial arts film staring Keanu Reeves, Tiger Chen, and Karen Mok. Man of Tai Chi is another American-Chinese co-production shot in Beijing but directed by a Hollywood stalwart Keanu Reeves, his first in a directing role.
The film promised plenty of bone-crunching action and is another collaboration of Keanu and Tiger Chen after the Matrix Trilogy started in 1997.
The story was a mix of action and personal drama of a young man, Tiger, with a developed martial arts talent. Donaka Mark, played by Keanu, is a powerful businessman who masterminds a black market fighting ring, where money is made by defeating one's opponent. Donaka knowing the skillful Tiger, threatened the latter with the redevelopment of his temple. Tiger joins and enters a series of underground mixed martial art fights promising "No rules, no referees." He became famous defeating international reputable opponents which plunged him into an increasingly painful and violent underworld.
The movie will hit theaters on July 14, 2013.
